
RE PAINTING THE RAINBOW CROSSWALK
In June of 2020 Interactors got together after months of isolation and re painted the rainbow crosswalk. This was on of the first projects we did after COVID 19 shut down our other projects. We did it while physically distancing and had a great time.

BACON FUNDRAISER
Bacon bacon bacon. For the third year in a row the Interact Club sold maple bacon as for their biggest fundraiser of the year during the months of February and March.

ANOTHER COMMUNITY BINGO NIGHT
The club hosted another bingo night on February 7. It was a blast and we had many happy winners. Thanks to the Senior Centre for the space.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP
In early January of 2020 we went around picking up Christmas Trees. We picked up many trees and raised some money for future projects. Thanks to Kicking Horse for always letting us use their truck.

ANTI GRINCH 4.0
On Christmas Eve this year we cooked 18 turkeys and brought gifts to those in need of a holiday lift. This is year number 4 now and the club is very fortunate to be able to continue to do this project for our community. This is the clubs most rewarding and fun project of the year and it is because of the support we are given throughout the community that makes this possible. Thank you to all the sponsors and donators.

HOLIDAY PANCAKE BREAKFASTS
Right before the Winter Holidays the Interact and Rotary Club organized a pancake breakfast for APES and Nicholson school. We have done many at APES but was our first time at Nicholson. It was very fun and the kids enjoyed their food. The kids were also lucky to have Santa come visit them during their meal. A thanks to the Rotary Club for their help.

ST PAULS ANTI GRINCH FUNDRAISER
St Pauls Thrift Shop was kind enough to hold a fundraiser this December giving all the funds to our Anti Grinch Project. Interactors were their to help work the till. We were very grateful to have such amazing support each year.

LOCAL FOOD MATTERS COOK OFF
This November, Interactors helped the Local Food Matters group in Golden run their AGM and their cook off primarily using local food. Congratulations to Town Council on their win.

COMMUNITY BINGO
This November the club hosted another community bingo night at the Senior Centre. It has been one of our most popular events and always has a great turnout. Thank you to the Rotary Club for the hotdogs and popcorn and the Senior Centre for the wonderful facility.

SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL
This is one of the most popular events the Interact Club puts on. October 27th was the annual kids Halloween carnival with lots of games and even more candy. Thank you to the Town of Golden for continuing to partner with Interact to make such a fun event.

COLVILLE INTERACT CLUB VISIT
The Interact Club was fortunate enough to have the Colville Interact Club visit all the way from the US from October 26 - 28. We had meals and played games at GSS and they helped run the clubs annual Spooktacular. A big thank you to GSS for letting the members use the school.

GARBAGE CAN PAINTING
In the fall of 2019 the club was busy painting another round of garbage cans to put around the community. The APES kindergarten classes helped decorate them with their hand prints. Everyone had a blast.

INTERACT BOTTLE DRIVE
The Interact Club worked hard sorting bottles all day for their bottle drive fundraiser. A huge thank you to the Golden Bottle Depot for all of their help and the community for all of their bottles.

THE ANNUAL FALL FAIR
Once again the Interactors set up some games and had prizes for the kids at the Fall Fair that takes place each year at the museum.

CAR WASH
On August 17th we had another car wash fundraiser. Thank you to Mountain Mart for the location.

GRAFFITI CLEAN UP IN THE COMMUNITY
A small group from the club teamed up on May 25th to paint over some old graffiti

PANCAKE BREAKFAST AT APES
On May 17th the club had a blast preparing a pancake breakfast for the kids attending Alexander Park Elementary School. A huge thanks to APES staff, Rotary for helping, and the food bank for donating the pancake mix!

COMMUNITY BINGO NIGHT
In 2018 on April 27th our club hosted our first Bingo Night. Which raised over $1600 in payout in winnings. The club had a lot of fun hosting the event and learning everything there is to Bingo. Thanks to the Senior Center for all the support and venue.

ANNUAL SPRING FLING EASTER EGG HUNT 2018
This year's egg hunt was filled with excitement and fun with the amazing turnout. Over 240 kids showed up to enjoy the games and egg hunt, that the club worked hard on setting up. A special thanks to the Town of Golden, CSRD and Save On Foods for all your help and support!

STATIC SHIFT CONCERT
Recently our club partnered with Kicking Horse Culture to promote Static Shift, a band of young artists from Calgary. Together we hosted a pre-teen community dance. The Static Shift put on a incredible performance where over 160 kids came to see! We were absolutely blown away by their musical talents and all the costumes that everyone dressed up as!! Huge thank you to Kicking Horse Culture - Engage, Energize, Enrich for giving us the opportunity to present this event!! Also a huge thank you to Overwaitea Foods No 22 for supplying snacks! And finally, a huge thank you to all the LGES and NES students who showed up and made this concert epic! For more videos and pictures you can check out our Facebook page.

CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP
On January 13th we completed our second annual Christmas tree pickup. We picked up over 60 trees and deposited them in the local landfill for chipping and disposal. Thank you to everyone who made a donation. A special thank you to Kicking Horse Ford for lending out a truck!

ANTI-GRINCH 2.0
Our favorite community project. This is our chance to make a big difference in the lives of local families during the holiday season. Thanks to the generous donations from local individuals, businesses and organizations, we were able to make Anti-Grinch that much better. With your support we were able to make Christmas just a little better by cooking and delivering 13 turkey dinners on Christmas Eve. Thank you Golden. We couldn’t have done it without you.

GARBAGE CAN PAINTING WITH KINDERGARTEN CLASSES
In November of 2017, we partnered with the local kindergarten classes to beautify bear proof garbage cans and cover up graffiti. A special thanks to the Town of Golden for allowing us a space to work and providing the garbage cans

LIBRARIES IN THE PARK PROJECT
In spring of 2017 the club completed the first three Libraries in the Park with a goal of encouraging reading while promoting outdoor fun. You can find the libraries in Kinsmen Park, Gushers Spray Park and the Parson Community Park. A huge thank you to CSRD for providing the funding for this project!

KIDS HALLOWEEN PARTY
The Interact Club once again partnered with the Town of Golden and the Regional District to host our third annual kids Spooktakular event! This event is a Halloween party for all local kids of all ages and provides a great chance to dress up, take part in some spooky Halloween games and tour a Haunted House. We are looking forward to seeing everyone next year!

COMMUNITY HAUNTED HOUSE
On October 31st, the Interact Club hosted the second annual community haunted house! We love this event and are looking forward to hosting it again next year. Come check it out for a scare!

FREERIDE WORLD TOUR
We had a great time in Spirit Square selling hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows with the community! Special thanks to the Town of Golden for building the sledding hills for the kids!
SPRING FLING EASTER EGG HUNT
In April our club once again partnered with the Town of Golden to host the first ever Easter egg hunt with games and activities for local kids. We had a great time with this event and looking forward to it next year!
COMMUNITY CAR WASH
This summer we had a blast hosting a car wash! Thank you to everyone who came out to support us and mountain mart for letting us use their lot!
ANTI-GRINCH 2016
For the first time ever in 2016, we cooked 6 turkey dinners for our Anti-Grinch project! We are incredibly grateful for all the donations and community support. Check out our video for more information!

CHEWELAH TRIP
In January we traveled to Chewelah, Washington to participate in the first Interact conference! This was a great trip, where we learned about our leadership styles and personality traits that help us succeed. A special thanks to the adults who took time out of their week to take us!

SPECIAL OLYMPICS
It was such an honor to help with the Special Olympics. We had a great time getting out into the community and interacting with people of all ages.

SPAGHETTI DINNER
In April 2016 we hosted our most successful event to date. We partnered with ShelterBox to host a spaghetti dinner shortly after the earthquake in Ecuador. After one of our classmates was injured in a skiing accident we combined our dinner to fundraise for both causes. Thanks to our incredible community we were able to fundraise more than $10,000! Special thanks to Rotary for helping us cook the dinner.

COMMUNITY EXCELLENCE AWARDS
This year we were incredibly humbled to receive the “Mayor’s Choice” award at our community award night. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last three years!

MOUNTAIN MART MURAL

In 2016 we did out first set of garbage cans. We had such a great time trying different colors and painting the mountains that we are so fortunate to see everyday

COLVILLE INTERACT CLUB VISIT
In February of 2016 we invited the Colville Interact Club to Golden to interact with each other and build future relationships. We had a great time doing an “Amazing Race” with them! Special thanks to the Golden Rotary Club for organizing our weekend!

INTERACT TALKS
In June of 2014 we hosted our first ever event as a club. We organized a conference style event with local speakers. This was a huge learning experience and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our local Rotary Club.

BOWLING ALLEY MURAL
In August of 2015 we painted our first mural on the side of our local bowling alley. Our mural was painted to inspire our community about the future of youth and remind everyone that today's youth are going to be doing big things tomorrow! Huge thank you to the bowling alley for their support.

NELSON TRIP
In 2015 we took our first trip as a club to the Rotary conference in Nelson BC. We had a memorable time meeting new people and building lasting friendships!
24 HOUR BIKE RACE
We were so excited to have had the opportunity to help plan games for kids at the 24hr bike race!
